The Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting scholarship applications from area high school seniors for the annual Scholarship awarded. The deadline to submit an application is March 1, 2010.

The scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating senior who is a resident of Mason County and a graduate of a private or public Mason County school and is planning to attend West Shore Community College in the fall semester after graduation. The scholarship is awarded to an individual based on leadership and volunteer work both in the school and in the community. It is geared toward the student who may not be eligible for academic scholarships.

The scholarship will be provide $500 for the fall 2010 semester and an additional $500 for the spring 2011 semester, upon successful completion of 66% of prior semester credits attempted. This scholarship may be used for tuition, fees and/or books and will be sent directly to the Financial Aid Office at West Shore Community College. Applications can be picked up from the Chamber of Commerce, 5300 W. U.S. 10, Ludington, MI 49431, your high school counseling office, or downloaded from the Chamber website, www.ludington.org.
